Murasaki Mist goes a long way back. The first version for IOS spanning only one chapter was created for the SquareEnix Latam competition. Though it was highly prized by Mr. Fukushima, founder of SquareEnix, it wasn't the winner.

We decided to completely rewrite Murasaki Mist for the PSVita, rewriting most of the story, but keeping the characters and the general look n' feel, as well as the Mist. The new story was written by Gerardo Íñiguez, and to my opinion, it's amazing. The game was finally launched in March 2016. I will have to be honest, the story was amazing, the settings were very nice and the music was awesome, but my particular area of development, gameplay, was very faulty and it was rightly criticized.

That was that, we concentrated on other projects, launched NetSpace Saga Ep.1 for Steam on May 2022 and we forgot about Murasaki Mist, though it was always somewehre in the back of my mind. But now, when we were looking for a game to test our 3D web jrpg engine, Murasaki Mist was an obvious choice. This is only Chapter 1 of the full game, remastered into turn-based battles and upgraded in many other aspects. Characters, for example, were recreated with our own new system. The Story will be kept the same though, for I think it was its biggest asset.

We hope more people will pick up this game in its newest version than the past ones, and that the new gameplay, fully a JRPG, won't be an obstacle for you, but that you will still be able to enjoy the world of Oaxa.

NetSpace is the project that opened a whole world of possibilities for us, for we developed a C++ turn-based JRPG engine that we could take anywhere! This Web version of Murasaki is a prove of it.
Still, we think NetSpace is an interesting product all on itself. It's a full 12hour JRPG where the protagonists are not teenagers, but an old, divorced, balding Space Trucker.
An irreverent story-line takes you to asteroid Cities, deep space, Mars and a virtual internet that has gone mad. While you fight your away through aliens, zombies, robots, androids, AI's and weirder things a mad conspiracy is unfolding.
NetSpace Saga Ep.1 was released for Steam on May 2022, and we plan to release it in other platforms when we have the chance.

If you liked this web version of Murasaki Mist and want to play a full game with the same sort of mechanics, please, check NetSpace Saga!

Or, if you would like to help us keep developing Murasaki Mist, buying or wishlisting NetSpace would really, really, help us out!

All available settings can be accessed through the webpage prior to this in-game page, but here are some general considerations.

Google Chrome runs the game best on any platform, including Apple devices.
Firefox runs slower than Chrome, but it works nonetheless, and in Windows computers where there is no dedicated Graphics Card, it's the same as Chrome.
Safari can't connect to the AnotherScape dashboard at the moment, so no saving/loading would be possible.
The “Ultra” quality setting has been tested to run at 60FPS,FHD, on an nVidia 1050ti, and a Mac Mini M1 so everything more powerful should run it perfectly.
The “Desktop” quality setting is almost as detailed as the “Ultra” setting, just disables shadows and has been tested on many computers of every possible kind reaching 30FPS FHD on most of them.
“Mobile” is the best option for mobile phones and tablets, but particularly powerful tablets or phones, like Apple's should be able to run it on “Tablet”.
“Is Touch” option is enabled by default on mobile browsers, it's a must if there's no keyboard and mouse attached.
“Is VR” is not supported right now, though we are working on it!
